Brian P. Watkins, MD
Dr. Watkins is originally from Washington State and attended Seattle University where he received a B.S. Summa Cum Laude with a major in General Science. He then attended the Medical College of Wisconsin where he earned both a Masters Degree in Anatomy as well as his Medical Degree. Dr. Watkins completed his general surgical residency as chief resident at the Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center located in La Crosse, Wisconsin.

As a medical student and resident Dr. Watkins won several awards including election into the AOA National Medical Honor Society and Resident of the Year. From graduation until 2006, he worked as an attending physician at a Mayo Clinic hospital in Wisconsin. After moving to the Rochester area in 2006, Dr. Watkins became an attending surgeon at Rochester General Hospital.
 
Dr. Watkins is a Board Certified general surgeon who has a special interest in advanced laparoscopic surgical techniques and endocrine surgery. He is excited by the opportunities that the growing practice at Genesee Surgical Associates offers him. He gladly welcomes new patients to his practice.
